Microsoft has announced a problem with Office 365 email that would prevent affected individuals from accessing their email account. Microsoft staff are investigating. There have not yet been any reports of this problem at Cornell to the IT Service Desk.
Current Status:
No issues among the Cornell community have been reported to the IT Service Desk. Cornell staff are continuing to monitor the situation and an alert will be reopened if it appears that the problem is having any effect at the university.

Security Alert: Zoom video vulnerability

Brief Description:
A vulnerability in Zoom's video conference platform was announced yesterday. It has the potential for malicious links to launch an end-user's video camera, but only in the foreground in a visible state. Zoom has addressed the issue in the following blog.
Current Status:
Apple has released a silent update that removes the vulnerable Zoom component from Macs. It does not require any user interaction and has been applied automatically to any Mac connected to the internet. Zoom also released a new version of their app that actively prompts users to install it and that addresses the problem once the app has been updated.
