Performance Issue: Canvas slow response and timeout errors

Brief Description:
Users have experienced performance issues with Canvas, beginning on 9/28/21 at 11:37am ET. The system is very slow for some, and others are receiving time-outs or heavy load errors. The Canvas support team is working with the vendor to investigate.
Current Status:
As of 11:57am, the issue appears to be resolved, and Canvas is operating at normal performance levels. IT staff continue to monitor.

Security Alert: Print spooler vulnerability - PrintNightmare

A critical zero-day vulnerability has just been announced in the Microsoft print spooler service and exploits are available in the wild. Print spooler services should be turned off, especially on domain controllers, until a patch is available.

Performance Issue: Zoom: Restoring Incorrectly Deprovisioned Accounts

Brief Description:
During routine maintenance, 90 user accounts that had been specially provisioned with Zoom access inadvertently had it removed. If these users try to log in to cornell.zoom.us, they will be guided through a process to restore their Cornell account.
Current Status:
CIT is currently working to restore the remaining 78 accounts. We will communicate with the users to notify them of the steps involved in the restoration.

Students accessing Apps on Demand - Statistics Software attempting to use Minitab may encounter a Software Activation error: "No licenses are available". Error code: -4.
Current Status:
A large amount of Minitab licenses were added to the license server to meet the semester's demand. This should resolve and avoid further Minitab software activation issues.

Performance Issue: CALS Website Mixed Availability

The CALS website (cals.cornell.edu) was unavailable for periods of time on Friday night, September 3, 2021 and Saturday morning, September 4. The vendor, Pantheon, has taken steps they believe will permanently fix the problem and service is now restored.
Current Status:
The CALS website is continuing to perform normally.
