Brief Description:
On Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 9am, ad8.cornell.edu server (domain controller) will be turned off. This may impact services that do not have a way to automatically use a different domain controller.
User Impact:
This change should not impact end users. The only impact would be for rare cases where a device or service is configured to use ad8.cornell.edu as the only server for connecting to AD.

On Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 9am, ad8.cornell.edu server (domain controller) will be turned off. This may impact services that do not have a way to automatically use a different domain controller.
If you have any services, devices such as a printer or NAS server, scripts, or automated processes that have ad8.cornell.edu embedded in the configuration as the only server for connecting to cornell.edu Active Directory domain, please change the configuration to point to ad1.cornell.edu.
If the service or device can use DNS round-robin records, you can use query.ad.cornell.edu instead, but only if the service or device supports this configuration.
