Brief Description:
There is a partial AT&T inbound calling outage for the 253 and 255 exchanges on the Avaya phone system. This issue is not a total outage to 253 and 255 numbers and some calls are getting through. If a call fails, trying again may work.
User Impact:
There are reports of an AT&T inbound calling outage for the 253 and 255 exchanges on the Avaya phone system. This issue is affecting some calls to the Cornell 911 center that are placed through 255-1111.
Workaround:
There is no workaround for this issue
Current Status:
AT&T's investigation traced the problem to a failed piece of infrastructure in Syracuse. A replacement part was shipped overnight and installed this morning (June 16, 2022), which restored normal service at around 8am.

There is a partial AT&T inbound calling outage for the 253 and 255 exchanges on the Avaya phone system. CIT has escalated a ticket with AT&T. This issue is not a total outage to 253 and 255 numbers and many calls are still getting through. If an attempt to connect to a 253 or 255 number fails, trying again may work. County emergency services are rerouting calls to avoid 255-1111.
