Brief Description:
RingCentral email-to-FAX feature has been temporarily disabled due to spam attacks.
User Impact:
RingCentral users may still send FAXes by using the RingCentral client installed on their workstations or by using the Web Portal. Only the email-to-FAX feature is currently impacted. Users with concerns should contact Request Fulfillment at ncs-os@cornell.edu or 607 254 6271.
Workaround:
There is no workaround for this issue

Full Description:
RingCentral provides an email-to-FAX gateway for sending FAXes from your personal email address. The gateway is being actively attacked with SPAM in an attempt to forward FAXes. A small number Cornell RingCentral accounts have been used as part of this exploit. We have contacted the affected individuals.

Cornell has been working with RingCentral to improve its email security. Until security can be improved, we have requested that RingCentral disable the email-to-FAX feature for all Cornell users.

RingCentral users may still send FAXes by using the RingCentral client installed on their workstations or by using the Web Portal. Only the email-to-FAX feature is currently impacted.
