On Tuesday, June 29, 2021, a setting that currently allows Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams to operate side-by-side will be changed and all Cornell Skype for Business meetings will occur in Teams, along with instant messaging functionality.
User Impact:
If Skype for Business is launched after the change, a notification will appear that Cornell has moved to Microsoft Teams. It will still be possible to run Skype for Business, see past chat conversations, and interact with people outside Cornell, but new activity with the Cornell community will occur in Teams.

A setting that currently allows Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams to operate side-by-side has changed and all Skype for Business meetings will move to Teams, along with instant messaging functionality. This change is in preparation of Microsoft's retirement of Skype for Business on July 31, 2021. If Skype for Business is launched after the change on June 29, a notification will appear that Cornell has moved to Microsoft Teams. It will still be possible to run Skype for Business, see past chat conversations, and interact with people outside Cornell, but new activity with the Cornell community will occur in Teams.
