Devices manually set up to connect to an IP address of CIT's Legacy AppSMTP (email) service will lose the ability to send mail Feb. 28, 2021. This may affect scanning on multifunction printers and functionality of other email-connected devices.
User Impact:
Systems manually configured to connect to an IP address of the Legacy AppSMTP service and that have not been updated will not be able to send email.

Devices manually set up to connect to an IP address of CIT's Legacy AppSMTP (email) service will lose the ability to send mail Feb. 28, 2021. This may affect scanning on multifunction printers and functionality of other email-connected devices.
In order to restore the ability to send email from these affected devices, the device's administrator needs to update its email configuration to use the new AppSMTP Service which was deployed in December.
DNS Name: appsmtp.mail.cornell.edu
Address: 128.253.150.177
The DNS Name should be used if possible. If the device does not allow the use of a DNS Name then the Address may be used.
