Brief Description:
On Saturday, January 30, 2021, the Quest ActiveRoles Server (ARS) will be upgraded between 9:00am and 12:30pm. This upgrade also includes the GuestID server. Administrators and users may need to take action to maintain compatibility with the new version.
User Impact:
This change may require administrators and users to take action to maintain compatibility with the new version. Users of the Quest ARS MMC Console or PowerShell module will need to install the new versions. Users of the ARS Web Interface will automatically see the newly-designed site.

Full Description:
The performance issue with Quest Active Roles Server (ARS) 7.3 that delayed the go-live last week is resolved.
The cut-over from Quest ARS 6.9 to Quest ARS 7.3 will occur on Saturday, January 30, 2021, starting at 9:00am. After the cut-over process starts, ARS 6.9 will no longer be available for use.
Upgrading to Quest ARS MMC Console Version 7.3
The 7.3 version of the MMC desktop console must be installed because the ARS 6.9 MMC client does not work with the ARS 7.3 server (and vice versa). The Quest ARS 7.3 MMC Console can be installed to run side-by-side with the ARS 6.9 MMC client.

• Configure Ports for MMC to TCP/135 and TCP/15172 (changed from TCP/60973 used in ARS
6.9—configure firewalls as necessary).
• After go-live, use the current (as used with ARS 6.9) production URL:

Web Interface
• Test URL for use with ARS 7.3 before go-live:
https://managetemp.ad.cornell.edu/adadmin.
After go-live, use the current Version 6.9 production URL.
• The ARS Web Interface underwent a redesign:
