Brief Description:
CIT will be updating the automatic speech recognition (ASR) machine caption features and tools in the Video Hosting and Sharing service.
User Impact:
* Current caption-editing tool (provided through a third-party vendor) will be replaced with a new simplified and easier-to-use caption editing tool provided by Kaltura which will function within the VOD instead of launching to a third-party website.
* The transcript widget will change, again from a third-party widget to one provided by Kaltura, which has slight cosmetic differences.
* Overall quality of machine captions are expected to improve (change in third-party captioning vendor used by Kaltura for their machine captions).
* Some menu names and headers in the navigation interfaces related captions will change slightly (terms changing, some navigation options consolidated).
