Brief Description:
Starting August 19, 2020, the vendor Sectigo will no longer be able to offer two-year public TLS certificates. Because of this change, the validity period drop-down box will be removed from the Cornell SSL certificate request form on August 16, 2020.
User Impact:
After the update on August 16, 2020, users will no longer see the validity period drop-down box on the Cornell SSL certificate request form. The vendor Sectigo will only be issuing one-year (up to 398 days) public TLS certificates.

Full Description:
Starting Wednesday, August 19, 2020, the vendor Sectigo will no longer be able to offer two-year public TLS certificates due to an industry-wide requirement set by major web browser makers and certificate authorities, which indicates that any two-year TLS certificate issued after August 30, 2020, will be distrusted in their browsers.

Because of this change, the validity period drop-down box will be removed from the Cornell SSL certificate request form on Sunday, August 16, 2020.
