On Friday, August 23, 2019, between 6:00am and 8:00am, IT staff will upgrade Cornell Dropbox. During the cut-over, users should expect the service to be unavailable.

Users will see a new name for the service: Cornell Secure File Transfer. Some icons will be changed although they remain in the same place. The maximum file size which can be transferred will be 5GB.

Full Description:
On Friday, August 23, 2019, between 6:00am and 8:00am, IT staff will upgrade Cornell Dropbox. During the cut-over, users should expect the service to be unavailable. Any transfers in progress during when the cut-over begins will need to be restarted by the user, but no data will be lost.
Once the upgrade is complete, end users can expect an increase in the file size limit per upload from 2GM to 5GB, a move of the application to cloud hosting service Media3, and a change of the service name from "Cornell Dropbox" to "Cornell Secure File Transfer."
Along with the name change, the web service’s URL will become https://sft.cornell.edu. Users going to the old service URL (dropbox.cornell.edu) will be redirected to the new location for a transition period of at least a year.
