Scheduled Service Change: Compellent array maintenance

Last Updated:

Event:

Status:
Closed
Brief Description:
User Impact:
Performance to the array will be impacted because cache will be disabled during this entire processes. The cache card replacement will require that we shift all IO over to our secondary controller. This will cause a 20 second disruption in IO before we replace the card and another 20 second disruption after. This is well within the system level timeouts on the servers and should be transparent to all applications and users. The FC IO enclosure updates is a backend process and should be transparent.
Workaround:
There is no workaround for this issue
Current Status:
N/A
Services Affected:
Full Description:
We will be replacing a cache card and updating the firmware in our FC IO enclosures. The cache card replacement is a proactive replacement before it expires in November. Now that the SATA enclosures firmware has been resolved and the controllers have been updated we can bring the FC IO enclosures to the current matching release.
