Brief Description:
SMB1 support has been disabled globally on virtual filers on Shared File Services.
User Impact:
Any users/systems who attempt to connect to SFS via a SMB1 connection will be denied access. Users should use smb protocol prefix.
Services Affected:
Shared File Services
Subsites Affected:
Voice Mail (AUDIX)
Full Description:
Shared File Services has performed the final steps to disable SMB1 support on 9/18/2017 at 11:00am. No impact is expected for current OS's.

MacOS users who map to Windows shares in the Finder via "cifs://files.cornell.edu/OU/SHARE" will experience failures as the "cifs" prefix forces a SMB1 connection which is no longer supported. Switching to use “smb://” resolves this issue.

* bad: cifs://files.cornell.edu/OU/SHARE
* good: smb://files.cornell.edu/OU/SHARE

Any users/systems who attempt to connect to SFS via a SMB1 connection will be denied access. Users should use smb protocol prefix.
