Current Status:
Cornell staff are continuing to look into individual incidents as they are reported. Recent cases have not correlated with any system-wide issue. Anyone who encounters audio issues with Zoom should first check their application version ( https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362393-What-Version-of-Zoom-Am-I-Running ). It should be 4.1.28245.0717 or higher. Also check the audio input or microphone device being used, and whether it's a good match for the size and configuration of the room.

If after checking these, you have unresolved Zoom audio issues, please contact the IT Service Desk and a CIT Web Conferencing specialist will investigate.

If you’ve encountered unexpected audio quality problems in a Zoom meeting, please contact the IT Service Desk with details to provide more background for the evaluation. Examination of different reports of audio quality issues in Zoom meetings are turning up a range of causes, rather than a single issue within the service. In addition to checking to make sure the Zoom application is up to date ( https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362393-What-Version-of-Zoom-Am-I-Running ) other considerations might be the audio input or microphone device being used, the size and configuration of the room, and the interaction of these factors. Note: There have been two cases where much older versions of Zoom triggered a message that they were up to date. To confirm you have the latest version, check to make sure by following the instructions using Zoom’s webpage at the link above to confirm you have 4.1.28245.0717 or higher. Please contact the IT Service Desk if you have unresolved Zoom audio issues and a CIT Web Conferencing specialist will investigate. 2018-07-20 20:06:41
