Brief Description:
Box Tools released in March is not working with the Firefox ESR (Extended Support Release) available to managed computers. The problem occurs because that Firefox ESR is in turn based on a version of Firefox that's older than what Box Tools supports.
User Impact:
Functionality provided by Box Tools is not working when used with Firefox ESR.
Workaround:
The Box Tools plugin is working with the current (non-ESR) release of Firefox, as well as the current version of Chrome.

Box Drive is another way of opening files that are stored in Box using your computer desktop: https://www.box.com/drive .
Current Status:
The Box Tools-compatible version of Firefox ESR (60) should be available to managed computers in the fall. A troubleshooting tip has been added to the IT@Cornell Box website: https://it.cornell.edu/box/problem-box-tools-firefox-esr-extended-support-release

In the meantime, the Box Tools plugin is working with the current (non-ESR) release of Firefox, as well as the current version of Chrome.
