Blogs
Full Description:
Tomorrow, (Thursday, July 6, 2017), the CU Blog service will make a change to fix a recently identified search engine indexing issue.

Currently, in cases when owners of sites on blogs.cornell.edu have opted to allow search engines to index their blog, not all components of site data are being indexed properly. The search engines find and index the blogs; however, the blog description is not being displayed due to a restrictive setting at the site level. The vendor, CampusPress, has provided information in support of fixing this issue.

After the change is made, for sites where the owner allows search engine indexing, it should occur properly and include the blog description. Blogs that have not opted to allow indexing will continue to not be indexed. Sites with custom domains were not affected by the problem, and so will likewise experience no change when it is fixed.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the CU Blogs Service team.
