Scheduled Service Change: Disable new account creation on WebEx (Rescheduled to 4/17)

Event:
2017-04-17 14:00:00
Expected Duration:
2017-04-17 15:00:00
Status:
Closed
Brief Description:
On this date we will be disabling the creation of new host accounts in WebEx. Users with already-existing host accounts will be able to continue to use WebEx, but anyone who does not already have a host account will not.
User Impact:
If a new user, who does not already have a WebEx host account, tries to log in to the Cornell WebEx site, they will be taken to a page notifying them that the WebEx product is being retired and accounts are no longer being automatically created for new users (with contact info for ITSD for appeals). Users who have previously logged in to the Cornell WebEx site and therefore already have an existing host account will not be affected. Attendees who are joining sessions, but not logging in to the WebEx site, will also be unaffected).
Services Affected:
Web and Video Conferencing

Please note this applies only to the creation of new host accounts. Attendees do not require a host account to join a meeting/session (just as users from outside Cornell can join sessions without needing a Cornell NetID).
