At 8:06am this morning, one of Cornell's 10G links to New York City failed. NYSERNET, the link provider, is investigating the failure. As a result, COGENT ISP service and the ORIE office in NYC are down. Cornell's backup commodity ISP service through Finger Lakes Technology Group is up and functional.

NCS engineers manually re-routed the COGENT ISP service over the alternate 10G path. COGENT ISP service is restored and we currently have 2 functioning ISP's for commodity Internet service. We expect to have the ORIE site in NYC restored within the hour. We need to run fiber jumpers in Rhodes and re-configure some routers. | NCS engineers manually re-routed the COGENT ISP service over the alternate 10G path.
