By 8pm yesterday (3/28/16) emails were sent to all intended recipients of affected messages, letting them know the sender and subject of messages that were not delivered so that if desired, they could request an email be sent again. We apologize for the inconvenience. \n\nDue to the timing of the maintenance, Sunday morning on a holiday, most of the affected messages were automated, with a small share being personally sent. The affected emails were sent between 8:15am and 9:30am 3/27/16 from outside Cornell to Cornell Office 365 accounts (faculty and staff email). This included systems that use an @cornell.edu address but are separate from Office 365. \n\nAny affected messages that were sent to individuals who forward their Cornell email to another email address would still have been delivered to that forwarded address.\n\nCornell engineers have identified messages that were affected by the problem and are beginning the process of communicating with senders or intended recipients. The root causes of the issue are being investigated to prevent similar issues from occurring in the future.
