Full Description:
A switch is failing in Cornell's Co-Location site in Syracuse, NY. This device has caused multiple outages in the last 24 hours. The failure causes interruptions to Cogent, an ISP providing commodity Internet to campus.\n\nThis path is one of two 10 Gigabit circuits to New York. Other services in New York are impacted, but re-route via the alternate circuit.\n\nThe peering with Cogent has been shutdown to facilitate a smooth replacement of the failing device.\nCIT/NCS replacing that switch in Syracuse this today. Cornell's local ISP, FLTG, is routing commodity Internet until service is restored. All other wide-area services (Internet2, NLR, BOCES, and private\nconnections) remain available.\n
