Scheduled Service Change: Prepare for powering OFF old domain controllers AD1, AD3, AD4, AD6

Brief Description:
User Impact:
To prevent central service downtime, the Active Directory team will adjust all internal systems (Identity Management, Email, etc.) before we take the domain controllers offline.\n\n*Department IT staff must take steps to ensure local services are configured correctly.*\n\n• BEFORE THE CHANGE: Although we always recommend that department systems use query.ad.cornell.edu, there is still a potential risk that someone bound a system directly to one of these domain controllers instead. Please check any system where you think it may use AD1, AD3, AD4 or AD6, and update it to use query.ad.cornell.edu, AD7, or AD8.\n\n• AFTER THE CHANGE: If your service is already configured to use query.ad.cornell.edu and you experience any issue connecting to cornell.edu Active Directory, restart your application to clear the DNS cache. The DNS record query.ad.cornell.edu will be updated to reflect the change in domain controllers.\n
