Initially this issue was thought to be affecting some Cornell e-lists. The scope is actually all incoming email. CIT is seeing unusually large numbers of incoming messages. Microsoft assisted CIT in finding a known bug in Exchange triggered by an invalid unicode "from" address. This bug caused incoming messages to @cornell.edu addresses to be delayed between about 2:35 pm and 8:41 pm. As about 9:15 pm, email delivery had resumed at normal speed.
