The work done on October 18 was successful in resolving the problems with Exchange access. There have been no disabled mailboxes or OWA errors since then. LDAP timeouts have dropped to zero. The Exchange team made a change to the configuration of the affected servers yesterday evening. Improvements in performance have already been noted and the team will continue to monitor the system today to determine whether the problem is resolved. CIT is continuing to work with Microsoft to test and eliminate causes of the poor performance. It appears to be hardware-related.\n\nThis status alert is now being used to report progress on all current Exchange issues, including these two:\n\n(1) Some users are unable to access Outlook Web App (OWA) and instead see the error "A problem occurred while you were trying to use your mailbox."\n\n(2) A small number of Exchange accounts are being affected by an issue that is disabling the accounts. CIT has done some work to restore access to mail for the affected users. Email admins restored service to affected users shortly after 11am by shifting mail service to redundant servers. Diagnostics on the affected servers are currently being performed.
