Full Description:
One normal and automatic maintenance procedure that storage arrays perform is a battery learn cycle to extend battery life. The batteries are to prevent data loss during a power failure. Over the weekend a number of storage arrays ran this procedure. During the battery learn cycle write cache is disabled and once the battery learn cycle is complete the write cache is re-enabled. One of the storage arrays failed to re-enable the write cache causing slower than normal performance. This was corrected at approximately 9:20am.
