There is no workaround for this issue
On Sunday, December 4, from 10am until 5:30pm, some emails sent from outside of Exchange, including email sent from Blackboard, were rejected with the message "530 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated". The problem was resolved by CIT staff at 5:36pm. Senders who received this failure message should have succeeded in resending the email after that time. Every sender who had the problem was notified by bounce message of the non-delivery.
