Scheduled Service Change: Router Maintenance - Campus Core Routers
All core network services are redundant, however, routing protocols take approximately 15-45 seconds to converge around a failed core device. During convergence, users may experience intermittent connectivity to sites external to Cornell.
There is no workaround for this issue
On Sunday, June 12, 2011, between the hours of 4am and 7am. , CIT-NCS will be conducting maintenance on the 2 redundant campus core routers. The maintenance includes a router code upgrade. During this window users may experience 2 brief periods (15-45 seconds each) of intermittent connectivity to sites external to Cornell as routers are reloaded (one at a time) and routing protocols converge.
