The ExpressRoute connection extends Cornell’s private network into Azure subscriptions. During the cutover to the new gateway, this private connectivity will be briefly interrupted for approximately 10 minutes. This disruption will only impact traffic that relies on the ExpressRoute path--specifically, private network access between campus and Azure. It will not affect internet access from Azure subscriptions, nor will it impact campus access to Azure-hosted services that are available via the public internet.

Cloudification

CIT will upgrade the Azure ExpressRoute gateway. This change will enhance resiliency and maintain hybrid connectivity for line-of-business applications. Minimal downtime is expected during the migration process.
