Last Updated:

Event:
2017-09-12 13:10:00
Status:
Closed
Brief Description:
Microsoft is in the process of turning off the Clutter email feature, and while email previously saved to the Clutter folder will stay there, once Clutter is turned off, no more mail will go to the Clutter folder. Focused Inbox is replacing Clutter.
User Impact:
Once Clutter is turned off for an individual, no more mail will go to the Clutter folder.
Workaround:
It's possible to use Focused Inbox in Outlook on the Web. The feature should be available for the other versions of Outlook in early 2018.
Current Status:
Focused Inbox can be used instead in Outlook on the Web (outlook.cornell.edu). Efforts are underway to make Focused Inbox also available in Outlook for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android, with a target availability in early calendar year 2018.
Services Affected:
Email and Calendar
Subsites Affected:
GuestIDs
Full Description:
Microsoft is in the process of turning off the Clutter email feature, and while email previously saved to the Clutter folder will stay there, once Clutter is turned off for an individual, no more mail will go to the Clutter folder. It’s possible to instead use Focused Inbox, but currently for Cornell’s Office 365, Outlook on the Web (outlook.cornell.edu) is currently the only way of receiving email that can use Focused Inbox. Efforts are underway to make Focused Inbox also available in Outlook for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android, with a target availability in early calendar year 2018. Focused Inbox for full-client versions of Outlook requires Microsoft’s Modern Authentication, and planning for implementation of this is now underway.
